After my work on the Coronation Bench was complete, I was asked by Katie Boyce (Senior Exhibitions and Programming Officer) at Rugby Gallery, if I’d like to work with her and her incredible team on an interactive 3D Comic Room for their upcoming comic book exhibition in June.
So…….armed with inspiration, my design for a room set and lots of posca pens, I illustrated an entire room in black and white, fit for a superhero! Amazing volunteers, particularly one incredible young artist on work experience, made many of the 3D objects as per my design.
I also designed some fully interactive magnetic super hero story boards for young people to “tell us a superhero story” and let their imaginations sparkle.
The exhibition itself is ABSOLUTELY amazing- there is truly something for everyone. Katie has curated and secured some of the most incredible comic artwork, film layout art and concept drawings, models and first edition works and covers.
And……
The best bit- the exhibition runs from now until 9th September 2023 and is absolutely free to go and see.
