I was very excited to be commissioned by the Alumni Team at the Arts University Bournemouth to design and illustrate a special yearly birthday card for all their Alumni.
I wanted to illustrate something a little bit different from previous designs and the idea of a conga style image really struck a chord – and when I discovering that there are 18 Departments within the AUB, I thought ‘this is definitely the right idea’!
The original artwork was quite challenging, not only did it measure approx. 62 x 25cm (it was then shrunk down to a more ‘manageable’ card size) but I had to keep checking that I hadn’t forgotten anyone! The cards were all personalised, handwritten and sent out to all the Alumni in September 2018!
